Rupert Wace Ancient Art, London dealer in Ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Near Eastern antiquities, is holding its its annual Christmas Exhibition from 3 to 23 December.

This year’s Christmas Exhibition will be the first in Rupert Wace’s new gallery in Crown Passage, an 18th-century artisan’s house in the historic heart of the art world and a stone’s throw away from Christie’s.

The Christmas Exhibition will offer a ‘treasure trove’ of beautiful finds, from small-scale objects and sculptures to stunning wearable jewellery. These will interest the established collector, whilst introducing a new audience to the fascinating world of ancient art and its continuing appeal to the modern aesthetic.

The selling exhibition provides an opportunity to acquire timeless gifts with fascinating histories from diverse cultures including those of ancient Egypt, the Classical Mediterranean world, Northern Europe and the Near East.

Over 100 objects will be on display and available for purchase with prices starting from a few hundred pounds, with many items priced under £1,000. Highlights from this year’s exhibition include:Roman animal brooches of bronze –  ideal gifts for young would-be collectors; a Byzantine double bezel gold ring; and Parthian gold and agate pendants.

Indeed, wearable ancient jewellery can offer a more meaningful, and often less expensive, alternative to contemporary designer pieces.  These timeless jewels can be easily worn today; for instance, the Parthian gold pendants each have original loop fastenings, allowing them to be strung on a leather thong or gold chain.
