London’s Somerset House is hosting a high-profile exhibition and auction of original artworks by leading artists, architects and designers this month.
100 participants including fashion designer Paul Smith, design guru Terence Conran and Olympic Aquatics Centre architect Zaha Hadid have produced original pieces of art inspired by London’s West End for this year’s 10x10 Drawing the City cultural event.
These unique pieces are being displayed in a public exhibition at Somerset House from 1 to 13 November culminating in a live Sotheby’s auction on 14 November. Members of the public have the opportunity to bid in a silent auction throughout the exhibition. Admission is free.
All the proceeds raised during the event will go to Article 25, one of the UK’s leading international development and disaster relief charities, which specializes in the built environment.
