The Mini Print International is an exhibition of original artists’ prints from around the world, selected in Barcelona by the organization ADOGI (Associaco Difusora d’Obra Grafica Internacional). The Mini Print International started in 1981 and is supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Spanish Government and the Generalitat of Catalunya
Set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, The Wingfield Barns are the venue for this exhibition These wonderful buildings, around a 16th century timber framed barn, host a wide range of exciting events including art exhibitions, music concerts, drama, cinema, workshops and much more. The link with the Mini Print International is through the founder of Wingfield Arts, Ian Chance who, while staying in Cadaques near Barcelona in 1991 met the founder of the Mini Print International, Pascual Fort. Pascal, an artist and former associate of Salvador Dali, arranged for the first UK Mini Print exhibition to be seen at Wingfield the following year. Until now Wingfield has been the only venue in the U.K, other than Farleys Yard in East Sussex, where the exhibition can also be seen.
Exhibits are by 600 individual artists from more than 60 countries, making the exhibition a global arts experience as represented by the vitality of artists on five continents. The exhibition consists of works by many artists established in their own country, as well as providing an opportunity for younger artists to exhibit their work internationally for the first time.
The astonishing diversity of the work in the exhibition provides an excellent introduction to contemporary art and printmaking, offering a very wide choice of subject matter, themes and printmaking techniques. The exhibition comprises a fascinating range of subject matter and ideas, some serious, many humorous reflecting hopes, fears, dreams and desires from artists around the world. This extraordinary exhibition has started lots of people on the road to creating their own mini art collection for their homes and businesses.
This Mini Print exhibition is shown internationally. Previous exhibitions have been held throughout the world including Toulouse, Tokyo, Mexico City, Boston, Bologna, Seoul, Cadaques and Barcelona. To quote the general manager at Wingfield Barns ‘one of the most fascinating aspects of this whole concept is that these 600 pieces are a genuine snapshop of global art in 2011. There is no other exhibition in the world that I know of that can claim this many international original pieces. It's exciting for collectors, art-novices, art lovers and the prices make it accessible to all.’
