Hall is deeply involved with the poetry of objects, with things made and things discovered. His art is intensely personal and individual. In this age of rampant consumerism, when the contemporary art market has degenerated into a feeding frenzy, it’s an attitude that can only be admired and saluted. Nigel Hall employs not only a quality control but a quantity control also, and his work grows in stature because of it.
